Williamsburg

Willaimsburg is one of the many gems of Brooklyn, and it is one stop from Manhattan by subway - so should not be missed. You can take 30 minutes or a day - and enjoy yourself either way.

Bedford Street is the main drag but there are plenty of offshoots, side streets, galleries, etc to explore here.

Pubs are great and the design bookstore is one of the best.

Check out pierogis at the Polish bakeries.
